My first small business!
This is my main side hustle and boy has it changed over the last two years I've been in business!
I have loved evolving this store to match my aesthetic and style as I work on developing my art style and what I'm able to produce by hand in my office!
It started out as a sticker and art print store, and I've managed to grow it to include t-shirts, crochet coasters, polymer clay earrings, tote bags and so on!
This has been a real labour of love, which started in lockdown in 2019. After having spent my whole life in the world of science, I wanted to explore more of my creative side, something I was convinced I didn't have! So I just started drawing. I did one of those 30 day art challenges and found that I really enjoyed pushing myself to do something creative every day, and honestly I've not stopped since then!
This is also how I decide that I wanted to go back to study something more creative. I was so hooked on drawing and playing with digital art and watercolours and just opening the floodgates into the world of crafting and creating and I'm so happy that I did! I'm so much happier now in a creative field than I ever have been.
What's the vibe?
In my latest rebrand, I wanted something more 70's inspired. My previous logo and branding elements were all very "handmade" feeling and as much as I loved the softer, quirky feel you can get from a more handmade aesthetic, I wanted something clean, simple and fresh!
So I started with the colour palette and it grew from there. At the time I was also studying Creative Digital Design, and decided to treat it like a school project, trying to nail down tone of voice, who my target audience was etc and documenting it to look back on later if I was ever stuck about where to go next with the business.
